Course Description
The pandemic serves as a stark reminder that life can change in an instant, oftentimes when it is least expected. As private practice clinicians, we are vulnerable to disability, illness, emergencies, and death. Yet, psychologists are rarely prepared for situations like these. This
course will detail the key clinical, ethical, and legal considerations for preparing your Professional Will and how to create a succession plan for your practice. Dr. Rochelle Perper, Ph.D. will guide you through the process and provide you with the tools and insights needed to ensure a smooth transition in times of uncertainty. At the completion of this course, you will be equipped with the foundation of a Professional Will document that can be easily implemented
into practice. By addressing these crucial aspects, you will not only fulfill your professional duty and ethical responsibility but provide peace of mind for yourself and those who depend on you.

Learning Objectives
1. Describe an example of when a professional will is needed
2. List three (3) key ethical standards relevant to advanced planning in clinical practice
3. Identify four (4) considerations when choosing a professional executor
